Zentej builds ZAP — a self-hosted cloud infrastructure governance platform purpose-built for regulated enterprises. We believe that compliance and cloud velocity should not be in conflict, and that the organisations building critical national infrastructure deserve tooling that was designed for them from the first line of code.

Our Mission

Compliance should not slow cloud delivery.

The traditional approach to cloud governance in regulated industries creates a false choice: move fast and accept compliance risk, or move slow and meet every requirement. ZAP was built to eliminate that choice.

When compliance is enforced before deployment — not discovered at audit — your platform team can move at the speed the business requires. Governance becomes the foundation of velocity, not the constraint on it.

What we believe

Self-hosted is not optional for regulated enterprises

When your infrastructure data, compliance findings and security posture leave your environment, you've already failed the data governance requirement. ZAP is self-hosted — this is not a feature, it's the architecture.

SI dependency is a governance risk

When the knowledge of how to govern your cloud lives in a consultancy, not your organisation, you have a concentration risk. ZAP puts governance in the hands of your platform team — permanently.

Evidence should be a by-product, not a project

3–4 weeks assembling evidence before an audit is a sign that governance is not continuous. When governance is continuous, evidence is a by-product that takes seconds to generate.

Compliance and velocity are not opposites

Chief Executive Officer

Girija leads business development and commercial strategy at Zentej. With a background spanning cloud services, digital transformation and regulated industries, she brings deep experience building technology partnerships and helping enterprise organisations navigate complex cloud governance challenges. Girija co-founded Zentej with a clear mission: to make compliant cloud infrastructure accessible without the traditional SI dependency.

David is Zentej's technical voice to the market. A Principal Field CTO with extensive experience across financial services, healthcare and government cloud architectures, he works directly with CTOs, CISOs and platform engineering leads to translate ZAP capabilities into tangible business outcomes. David authors many of Zentej's technical insights on regulatory compliance, multi-cloud governance and AI governance.

Subbareddy is the technical architect behind ZAP's multi-cloud compliance engine, IPAM architecture and FinOps governance capabilities. With deep expertise across Azure, AWS and GCP infrastructure at enterprise scale, he designs the ZAP capabilities that govern hundreds of landing zones — from CIS benchmark enforcement to mandatory tagging frameworks and operational monitoring.

Three years. Five releases. From a single-cloud landing zone tool to a multi-cloud governance platform shipping in regulated estates across the UK and EU.

2023

Zentej founded

Zentej incorporated in England. First version of ZAP begins development, focused on CIS-compliant Azure landing zone automation.

2024

ZAP goes to market

ZAP v1 launches. First enterprise customers. CIS Azure 2.0, IPAM, ZAP Compliant Scan and ServiceNow integration. Cyber Essentials and CE+ certifications achieved.

2024

NHS & government expansion

ZAP adopted by NHS organisations and government bodies. DSPT, NCSC CAF and Crown Commercial Service supplier accreditation secured.

2025

Multi-cloud and ZAP AI

AWS and GCP support added. ZAP AI co-pilot launched. Shadow AI detection. DORA compliance monitoring. 9 frameworks covered end-to-end.

2026

ZAP v6 — current

15 capabilities. Multi-site replication. Enterprise platform integrations. Expanded AI governance for EU AI Act. ZAP Migrate in expansion.
